Now I love the anticipation before the day arrives and trying to guess what my gift is, but if I find out before, it's somewhat of a let down because my anticipation for the surprise has been killed. Emily had her 4th birthday on March 13. She had a sleepover at her grandma's and then we had a party at Nana and Papa's to celebrate. She went on a treasure hunt to find one of her presents. This was her face when she saw her new bike!

Right now I'm reading The Brontes: A Life in Letters by Juliet Barker. For any of you who have read Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights. the authors Charlotte and Emily were sisters who grew up in a very talented family. They did not have very much by earthly means, but all of the siblings had active imaginations. This book is really interesting because it is a biography based on the letters written to correspondants throughout their lives. Most of the letters are written by Charlotte to friends and to her publisher. She and her sisters wrote under male aliases. I think it's neat that so much of their history was written through their letters. I find it a little sad that we don't correspond as much with letters. I always loved having pen pals when I was little and wrote to whoever would write back. I have kept almost all the letters I received and love the character shown through my friend's and family's handwriting.
