For the record, Aaron has been warned. My mom told him I had a sixth sense about presents. Yes, I was the child that snooped for my presents around Christmas. My sister and I even had our own version of The Twelve Days of Christmas where each of the twelve days before Christmas we got to ask each other a question about the presents we were exchanging. Now I love the anticipation before the day arrives and trying to guess what my gift is, but if I find out before, it's somewhat of a let down because my anticipation for the surprise has been killed.
As an adult I no longer snoop (although Aaron might argue), but I have developed a sort of sixth sense for knowing what I'm getting. For Christmas this year, Aaron and I went shopping together for our presents so we knew what we had gotten each other. The week before he became somewhat secretive and I became suspicious, but knew better than to pry. I woke up one morning and announced I was cleaning the basement. He asked if I was going to clean around an old desk and I told him yes. He went downstairs to take care of some business and after he returned I began my cleaning. I went from room to room cleaning out junk left by the people before us. When I started in on one of the storage rooms, I was elated to find a book of
Ansel Adams photographs they had left behind. I grabbed the book off the shelf and started running up the stairs to show Aaron my newfound treasure when I realized the people probably didn't leave it. Aaron came down later to see what I had accomplished, when he asked me, "Have you been in every room?" I smiled knowing what he was talking about and told him yes. He accused me of snooping and was disappointed that I'd ruined his one surprise. I tried to console him by saying, "I wish you could have seen my face when I found it." "I wish I could've too . . . on Christmas morning." He still thinks I snooped, but I think he needs to find a better hiding place. :)

He kept telling me I was going to love it and kept rubbing it in that I'd never guess it. He even dared me to guess and said he'd give me a million tries because he knew I'd never guess it. I had some
ideas in mind and didn't want to ruin the surprise, but I finally buckled under the pressure with a random guess of "A U2 laser show" (because I love U2). Aaron got a funny look on his face and said, "What! They don't have anything like that around here. Where would you come up with that?" He was trying to cover up that I'd guessed it and again said I was snooping on the internet. I came up with this one on my own much to his dismay. Needless to say we had a fun night. We went to dinner at P.F. Chang's where we saw Jeffery R. Holland come in for some takeout, and then made our way over to the Clark Planetarium for the much anticipated U2 laser show. It was amazing! I would love to have that playing in my room every night because it was so relaxing to watch, not to mention the incredible music.
