Meet Izzy

Isabel Marie DeHart
made her debut into the world
on Saturday April 18, 2009
at 6:08 pm
She weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz.

and was 20 in. longWe are in love with her curly blond hair

Aaron is in love with his new little girl. I hardly changed any diapers in the hospital and unless I was feeding her I had to fight him to hold her. He claims I got to hold her for the last 9 months, it's hardly the same.

Our family of four

I DID IT! I had set a goal for myself to deliver naturally with this baby (I had an epidural with em and don't get me wrong I loved it.) Aaron and I took classes to learn relaxation techniques and how the body works through the delivery process. We learned a lot.

I had been having some serious labor pains for the past several weeks and thought because of this I probably wouldn't realize when it was time for the real thing. I had hair appointments scheduled all day Saturday and was doing my last one (thank heavens it was my mom) when my water broke. She still had foils in her hair and I wasn't sure what to do since I'd never had my water break before. I tried to finish her hair, but Aaron and my mom wouldn't let me. Aaron washed her hair out in the salon sink while I got my stuff ready. I'd been having contractions, but they were the same as any other day. They started coming harder after my water broke so we left Em with my mom and drove to the hospital. We checked in at about 4:15 with my pants soaking wet and my contractions about 5 minutes apart. They quickly started coming a lot faster and at about 5:30 I was ready to call it quits and ask for the epidural when the nurse frantically started calling people and yelling for them to set up. I thought I still had a long way to go, but hearing this made me realize I could do it. It hurt like no other, but so far I think it's been worth it. My recovery has been way easier and I feel really good. We'd love visitors! If you can guarantee I'll only have 2 hours of hard labor I might consider doing it again:)

She is beautiful! I love the name Isabel. That's what Abby picked for our next little girl's name, so we may be stealing it from you! I would love to meet her in person. We need to reschedule our FHE!

Look at all that hair!! That is the best! She's beautiful and looks perfect. High five on the natural delivery. I'm going to wait until they just fall out before I forego the meds. It should only take one or two more...

She is the cutest thing ever!! We need to see her when I get back from California. I didn't think little girls came much cuter than Emily, but Isabel might tie for first. Oh my gosh I can't wait to hold her!
Congratas Anica and Aaron! What a doll

Christmas in Germany

Christmas 2016 Bernkastel-Kues Christmas morning Our Christmas was a little different this year, or I guess a lot different because of being in a different country and far away from the family and friends we love. We celebrated about a week and a half early because Emily went to spend Christmas with her other family and Aaron had to work on Christmas. Emily left the day after the girls' last day of school, so when they came home from school we opened presents from each other and then by popular vote spent the rest of the night eating pizza and bowling at the bowling alley on base. The next day we woke up early to deliver Em to the airport. We were able to hit a couple of Christmas Markets in the beginning weeks of December with her and then we did a couple after she left. We thought it was kind of fun how each Christmas Market has their own mug that you can collect, so the collecting motivated Aaron a little more to hit multiple markets rather than to just stay ho...

6 Week Flu

SYMPTONS: FREQUENT VOMITING, EXCESSIVE FATIGUE, NAUSEA, LACK OF MOTIVATION SIDE EFFECTS: HOUSE TURNS INTO A PIG PEN, FAMILY MEMBERS WEAR DIRTY UNDERWEAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY ARE ACCUSED OF HAVING EATING DISORDERS FROM MALNUTRITION, YOUR BED & COUCH HAVE A PERMANENT INDENT, AND THE CARPET FROM HERE TO THE BATHROOM HAVE A WELL WORN PATH, PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH My friend recently told me there's a chance she "might" be pregnant. When I asked what might meant, she told me it could just be the flu. I laughed at her until I started experiencing the same symptoms. Even after a positive pregnancy test I worried that it might be all in my head. Thank heavens for a trip to the doctor, he confirmed that: WE ARE HAVING BABY NUMBER 2 !!!!!! I apologize to any of you who have asked recently when we are having more kids or why I am sick, and I didn't give you a straight answer . . . well now you know!
