Update

Just a little update on where we're at right now, Aaron completed his generals and just got accepted into the nursing program at Weber State University for the upcoming spring semester. We are excited and thrilled to be moving in a good direction! The plan is for him to complete his Bachelor's degree in nursing within the next few years, get some experience, and get into a Master's program to become a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. He is currently in the Army Reserves and a cadet in Weber's ROTC program, which means he won't be deployed again while he's finishing his Bachelor's degree.

I am currently enrolled in the Master of English and Master of Education programs at Weber as I work towards a Master's degree in English along with a secondary teaching license. Other than doing hair in my basement salon, I am staying at home full-time (more on that later).

Emily is in 3rd grade! (I know, where did the time go?) She is an awesome soccer player and loved learning to play goalie this year in addition to being one of her teams leading scorers. She continues to take piano lessons and is excited to be progressing to some "real songs".  She is still a tomboy and refuses to wear anything pink or play with anything girly, although she is surprisingly a really sweet and loving big sister.

Isabel is 3 (or free, depending on who you ask) and never stops talking. She likes all things pink and girly. Loves to dress up, critique me on my wardrobe, and will do anything for a laugh. She started her first year of playschool and is quite the social butterfly with all her little friends, which I am not one of because I'm "just a mom."

Claire was born July 22 of this year (more on that event later) and is growing too fast. We love having her in our family and are excited to see what dynamic she will add to our family as her personality begins to emerge.

P.S. If you have a blog that I don't have a link to, I'd love to follow you ;)

Christmas in Germany

Christmas 2016 Bernkastel-Kues Christmas morning Our Christmas was a little different this year, or I guess a lot different because of being in a different country and far away from the family and friends we love. We celebrated about a week and a half early because Emily went to spend Christmas with her other family and Aaron had to work on Christmas. Emily left the day after the girls' last day of school, so when they came home from school we opened presents from each other and then by popular vote spent the rest of the night eating pizza and bowling at the bowling alley on base. The next day we woke up early to deliver Em to the airport. We were able to hit a couple of Christmas Markets in the beginning weeks of December with her and then we did a couple after she left. We thought it was kind of fun how each Christmas Market has their own mug that you can collect, so the collecting motivated Aaron a little more to hit multiple markets rather than to just stay ho...

6 Week Flu

SYMPTONS: FREQUENT VOMITING, EXCESSIVE FATIGUE, NAUSEA, LACK OF MOTIVATION SIDE EFFECTS: HOUSE TURNS INTO A PIG PEN, FAMILY MEMBERS WEAR DIRTY UNDERWEAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY ARE ACCUSED OF HAVING EATING DISORDERS FROM MALNUTRITION, YOUR BED & COUCH HAVE A PERMANENT INDENT, AND THE CARPET FROM HERE TO THE BATHROOM HAVE A WELL WORN PATH, PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH My friend recently told me there's a chance she "might" be pregnant. When I asked what might meant, she told me it could just be the flu. I laughed at her until I started experiencing the same symptoms. Even after a positive pregnancy test I worried that it might be all in my head. Thank heavens for a trip to the doctor, he confirmed that: WE ARE HAVING BABY NUMBER 2 !!!!!! I apologize to any of you who have asked recently when we are having more kids or why I am sick, and I didn't give you a straight answer . . . well now you know!
