Here's to a New Year . . .

This little angel is the greatest blessing we received in 2009 and what a blessing she is!
Am I the only one who thinks she just keeps getting cuter and cuter?

I'd be lying if I said that 2009 wasn't a difficult year for us because I sure feel like it was. As with every year we had our ups and downs, but for some reason we seemed to stay more on the down side trying to make our way up. When I get discouraged about life I try to think of the blessings I have rather than what I don't have. Sometimes it hard, but I am definitely grateful to be the mother that these two little girls call "mommy."

Would I be considered a bad mother if some days I wonder if they were sent as a blessing or a trial :) ? I hope somebody else has had that same thought . . .

We are hopeful for this upcoming year. We have some lofty goals and pray that we may find the right path to achieve them. Some of the greatest challenges of the goals we set seem to be the small steps we have to take and the trials we face to get there. I often feel like maybe I don't want to get to the other side of a trial because I worry that the next one will be greater, but if I continued with this mentality it would interfere with the opportunity I've been given to learn and to grow.

I'm grateful for 2010 and look forward to the successes it will bring. (After all 10's my lucky number which makes me hopeful something good will come from it!)

I wish a Happy New Year to all of our friends and family and hope it will be a prosperous and happy one for each of you!

They are adorable! I love that picture of the two of them. I can't believe how big they are. I feel the same way about trials but you just have to push through them and hopefully the next one won't be for a long long time! Let's get together soon!

Christmas in Germany

Christmas 2016 Bernkastel-Kues Christmas morning Our Christmas was a little different this year, or I guess a lot different because of being in a different country and far away from the family and friends we love. We celebrated about a week and a half early because Emily went to spend Christmas with her other family and Aaron had to work on Christmas. Emily left the day after the girls' last day of school, so when they came home from school we opened presents from each other and then by popular vote spent the rest of the night eating pizza and bowling at the bowling alley on base. The next day we woke up early to deliver Em to the airport. We were able to hit a couple of Christmas Markets in the beginning weeks of December with her and then we did a couple after she left. We thought it was kind of fun how each Christmas Market has their own mug that you can collect, so the collecting motivated Aaron a little more to hit multiple markets rather than to just stay ho...

6 Week Flu

SYMPTONS: FREQUENT VOMITING, EXCESSIVE FATIGUE, NAUSEA, LACK OF MOTIVATION SIDE EFFECTS: HOUSE TURNS INTO A PIG PEN, FAMILY MEMBERS WEAR DIRTY UNDERWEAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY ARE ACCUSED OF HAVING EATING DISORDERS FROM MALNUTRITION, YOUR BED & COUCH HAVE A PERMANENT INDENT, AND THE CARPET FROM HERE TO THE BATHROOM HAVE A WELL WORN PATH, PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH My friend recently told me there's a chance she "might" be pregnant. When I asked what might meant, she told me it could just be the flu. I laughed at her until I started experiencing the same symptoms. Even after a positive pregnancy test I worried that it might be all in my head. Thank heavens for a trip to the doctor, he confirmed that: WE ARE HAVING BABY NUMBER 2 !!!!!! I apologize to any of you who have asked recently when we are having more kids or why I am sick, and I didn't give you a straight answer . . . well now you know!
