Izzyism's

Things I want to remember about Izzy:

I love how she exudes happiness with her contagious giggle.

When her daddy tickles her, she giggles and when she's calming down she always exclaims, "Ohhhh Dawdy!" in a little accent that is hers alone.

I love how when you tell her you think something, like "Izzy I think you're cute" she responds with "Yuh-doo?" which Aaron and I find ourselves using in our conversations with each other now. Brings a smile.

I love how she loves her baby sister and talks 'baby talk' to her. The other day we had preschool at our house and her friends were talking to Claire and she said, "No that's not how you talk to her" and she proceeded to do her high pitched baby talk so that when I walked in later, four little girls were standing in front of Claire talking in high-er pitched voices while shaking their heads back and forth exaggeratedly.

I love how she is the family announcer for anytime anyone passes gas and she quickly learned to blame it on Claire when she came along (which is true a majority of the time).

She uses, "Last night" for anything that happened in the past.

It cracks me up when she starts a story with, "When I was a little kid . . ."

Her expressions are priceless. That girl has some funny faces and wears her heart on her sleeve.

Man oh man, never get the stink eye from her because it is a mean one.

I love that she can express her feelings. When she is mad at me she lets me know, "Mom I am mad at you and I'm not going to be nice to you!" Good to know.

She is a sensitive little thing and anytime she gets in trouble and I reprimand her she is very offended and usually says, "Mom I know you're frustrated with me, but I still love you" as if I'm the offender.

The other day Aaron did something she wasn't happy about and with a tear in her eye and a pouty lip she said, "Daddy you broke my heart. My heart is hurt."

She is very particular and things have to be done a certain way, although I'm not sure where she gets it from . . .

I love taking her shopping with me because she will tell me, "Mom you look beautiful in that!" She loves shoes and clothes and all that fun girly stuff.

The other day we were at a store and she was hopping down the isle full throttle and came to a display of baby clothes and exclaimed, "Oh these are adorable! Sometimes when things are so adorable it makes me want to cry!" A worker was standing there and started laughing so hard, she said, "That is so funny to hear that come out of such a little girl."

She is our talker. A few people have commented on how well she talks and we always reply that it's because she gets a lot of practice.

She told me this morning, "Mommy you are the best mommy ever! Even better than Daddy." I work hard at being a better mom than Aaron and apparently it's now just starting to pay off.

Christmas in Germany

Christmas 2016 Bernkastel-Kues Christmas morning Our Christmas was a little different this year, or I guess a lot different because of being in a different country and far away from the family and friends we love. We celebrated about a week and a half early because Emily went to spend Christmas with her other family and Aaron had to work on Christmas. Emily left the day after the girls' last day of school, so when they came home from school we opened presents from each other and then by popular vote spent the rest of the night eating pizza and bowling at the bowling alley on base. The next day we woke up early to deliver Em to the airport. We were able to hit a couple of Christmas Markets in the beginning weeks of December with her and then we did a couple after she left. We thought it was kind of fun how each Christmas Market has their own mug that you can collect, so the collecting motivated Aaron a little more to hit multiple markets rather than to just stay ho...

6 Week Flu

SYMPTONS: FREQUENT VOMITING, EXCESSIVE FATIGUE, NAUSEA, LACK OF MOTIVATION SIDE EFFECTS: HOUSE TURNS INTO A PIG PEN, FAMILY MEMBERS WEAR DIRTY UNDERWEAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY ARE ACCUSED OF HAVING EATING DISORDERS FROM MALNUTRITION, YOUR BED & COUCH HAVE A PERMANENT INDENT, AND THE CARPET FROM HERE TO THE BATHROOM HAVE A WELL WORN PATH, PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH My friend recently told me there's a chance she "might" be pregnant. When I asked what might meant, she told me it could just be the flu. I laughed at her until I started experiencing the same symptoms. Even after a positive pregnancy test I worried that it might be all in my head. Thank heavens for a trip to the doctor, he confirmed that: WE ARE HAVING BABY NUMBER 2 !!!!!! I apologize to any of you who have asked recently when we are having more kids or why I am sick, and I didn't give you a straight answer . . . well now you know!
