My Big Break! (ha ha)

Over Christmas break we were on vacation in Sedona, AZ and I got a phone call from Wasatch Woman magazine saying they wanted to publish an article I had sent to them a few weeks prior. I had a Magazine Article Writing class last semester and we were required to write and submit two articles to two different magazines, so needless to say when I got the phone call I was pretty excited! The article is called "Dating Your Significant Other" and it should be in the January/February issue.
In conversing back and forth with the Creative Director of the magazine, she found out I'm also studying Photography and since then I have been given a couple of different Photo Shoot assignments that they will use in subsequent issues of the magazine this year. Since I have a background in cosmetology they have assigned me to do a shoot at a hair salon and another at a medical spa. I have to say that I am pretty dang excited for this opportunity because it is exactly what I hope to do for a career someday and for right now it works great just doing free-lance assignments so I can get experience and stay home with my Emily!

That is so awesome!! If you have any extra copies or a photocopy I would love to read your article- I used to write a little myself. It sounds like you are doing really well and Aaron and Emily should be dang proud of their magnificent mommy!!

Christmas in Germany

Christmas 2016 Bernkastel-Kues Christmas morning Our Christmas was a little different this year, or I guess a lot different because of being in a different country and far away from the family and friends we love. We celebrated about a week and a half early because Emily went to spend Christmas with her other family and Aaron had to work on Christmas. Emily left the day after the girls' last day of school, so when they came home from school we opened presents from each other and then by popular vote spent the rest of the night eating pizza and bowling at the bowling alley on base. The next day we woke up early to deliver Em to the airport. We were able to hit a couple of Christmas Markets in the beginning weeks of December with her and then we did a couple after she left. We thought it was kind of fun how each Christmas Market has their own mug that you can collect, so the collecting motivated Aaron a little more to hit multiple markets rather than to just stay ho...

6 Week Flu

SYMPTONS: FREQUENT VOMITING, EXCESSIVE FATIGUE, NAUSEA, LACK OF MOTIVATION SIDE EFFECTS: HOUSE TURNS INTO A PIG PEN, FAMILY MEMBERS WEAR DIRTY UNDERWEAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY ARE ACCUSED OF HAVING EATING DISORDERS FROM MALNUTRITION, YOUR BED & COUCH HAVE A PERMANENT INDENT, AND THE CARPET FROM HERE TO THE BATHROOM HAVE A WELL WORN PATH, PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH My friend recently told me there's a chance she "might" be pregnant. When I asked what might meant, she told me it could just be the flu. I laughed at her until I started experiencing the same symptoms. Even after a positive pregnancy test I worried that it might be all in my head. Thank heavens for a trip to the doctor, he confirmed that: WE ARE HAVING BABY NUMBER 2 !!!!!! I apologize to any of you who have asked recently when we are having more kids or why I am sick, and I didn't give you a straight answer . . . well now you know!
