The Life of a Tourist (with kids)

We had a fun little excursion this week with our friends Helina and Bennett. On Wednesday we went to The Brooks Art Museum where they had an Andy Warhol exhibit that was really cool. The kids totally dug the Art Museum. Ha ha! (Note to self: Emily has not developed an appreciation for art museums yet, but she will.)
We then dragged the kids to an Art Exhibit at the University of Memphis and it turned out to be closed for the summer, much to Emily's dismay. So we dragged them back to the car, but at least we got to see more of Memphis with our little sidetrip.

Emily and Bennett on the Trolley

Next we went to downtown Memphis and rode the trolley through the center of town and down to Beale Street. We ate at Hard Rock Cafe where Emily and Bennett had a hard time eating because they wanted to just dance to the music. On our way back to the trolley we stopped to listen to a live band playing some Blues Music.

All of us at Hard Rock Cafe

Emily and Bennett's favorite part of our trip was probably the water fountains they ran through at the end. Emily was splashing and going crazy while Bennett just stood and watched her. Each time she splashed him his eyes got really big, but he wouldn't move. He's so cute!

Christmas in Germany

Christmas 2016 Bernkastel-Kues Christmas morning Our Christmas was a little different this year, or I guess a lot different because of being in a different country and far away from the family and friends we love. We celebrated about a week and a half early because Emily went to spend Christmas with her other family and Aaron had to work on Christmas. Emily left the day after the girls' last day of school, so when they came home from school we opened presents from each other and then by popular vote spent the rest of the night eating pizza and bowling at the bowling alley on base. The next day we woke up early to deliver Em to the airport. We were able to hit a couple of Christmas Markets in the beginning weeks of December with her and then we did a couple after she left. We thought it was kind of fun how each Christmas Market has their own mug that you can collect, so the collecting motivated Aaron a little more to hit multiple markets rather than to just stay ho...

6 Week Flu

SYMPTONS: FREQUENT VOMITING, EXCESSIVE FATIGUE, NAUSEA, LACK OF MOTIVATION SIDE EFFECTS: HOUSE TURNS INTO A PIG PEN, FAMILY MEMBERS WEAR DIRTY UNDERWEAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY ARE ACCUSED OF HAVING EATING DISORDERS FROM MALNUTRITION, YOUR BED & COUCH HAVE A PERMANENT INDENT, AND THE CARPET FROM HERE TO THE BATHROOM HAVE A WELL WORN PATH, PEOPLE THINK YOU HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH My friend recently told me there's a chance she "might" be pregnant. When I asked what might meant, she told me it could just be the flu. I laughed at her until I started experiencing the same symptoms. Even after a positive pregnancy test I worried that it might be all in my head. Thank heavens for a trip to the doctor, he confirmed that: WE ARE HAVING BABY NUMBER 2 !!!!!! I apologize to any of you who have asked recently when we are having more kids or why I am sick, and I didn't give you a straight answer . . . well now you know!
